Motion Trio-wizards of the accordion in Poland
Accordionists from Krakow who have travelled the world playing their original music will now find themselves in Poland promoting their newest album „Metropolis”.These musicians do not use any electronic effects-the tio's music remaing entirely acoustic. Motion Trio is an accordionist trio that was started in 1996 by Jnusz Wojtarowicz,leader and composer of most of the compositions.Motion Trio is a unique phenomenon on the European and worldwide music scene. Motion Trio has changed the face of the accordion.Their concerts are musical spectacles.
The trio has collaborated with Krzysztof.Penderecki,Bobby McFerrin,Wojciech Kilar, Krzesimir Dębski, Trilok Gurtu, Michał Urbaniak-”I liked everything they do from the first moment I heard them”,Tomasz Stańko-”After only one brief rehearsal I was in awe of them”,Sinfonietta Cracovia, Deutsches Filmorchester.
They are the grand prix laureates of the 4th Edition of the Krzysztof Penderecki International Contemporary Chamber Music Competition in 2000.They taught a „Masterclass”at the University of Chicago and at the National Conservatory in Paris.Joe Zawinul once spoke about Motion Trio-”Your music is incredible”.Krzysztof Penderecki once said-”This accordion trio is unique”.”Trio play like masters with their original sounds”- wrote Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung .
Motion Trio has recorded 5 albums:„Cry”, „Pictures”, „Play-Station” , „Live in Vienna Sacrum & Profanum”as well as „Metropolis”.The trio won the „Gus Viseur „award in the category”Discovered Artist of the Year” in France,has played in 29 countries around the world: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, Iceland, Japan, Canada, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Latvia, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, the USA, Hungary and Italy.
In January 2008 MT will perform at the world famous Carnegie Hall in New York.
MT says about themselves:

„We feel just as good playing on the streets just as we do in a concert hall”.
„We feel certain that music does fine without MT,however,we will not do fine without music”.
MT's musicians are Janusz Wojtarowicz,Paweł Baranek,Marcin Gałażyn.
After the concert the musicians will be singning autographs on their newest album.
